Variación De Las Exportaciones De Café, La Mejora En Su Competitividad Para Café Especiales, En El Paraíso, Honduras.

Abstract

The objective of the study has been to determine the factors that influence the variation of coffee exports, as the improvement of competitiveness in this sector allows them to diversify and venture into specialty coffees. For this, they have had the support of the coffee producers of the Azabache Limitada cooperatives (COCAAL), Cooperativa Mixta de Cafetaleros de Oriente Limitada (COMICAOL), Cooperativa Mixta Cafetalera Paraíso Limitada (COMICPAL), independent and technical coffee growers. In the search for a solution to the problems found in the coffee sector, this research includes a progressive development of different stages that begins from the bibliographic collection and review of documents related to the subject to the processing of data obtained in the field, preparation of tables, correlations and analysis of the results that allow integrating all the variables. 73 interviews were applied to coffee producers, carried out with a coffee expert, concluding that among the factors that determine the variation in coffee exports is due to the fact that coffee growers do not know the destination where their coffee is sent, with a number limited number of cooperatives exporting, in addition to identifying uncompetitive varieties, and in relation to the opportunities to be competitive, it is observed that only 8% sell at differentiated prices as a product of the quality of coffee, without finding a relationship between the management of the plantation and harvest as well as between e-commerce or exports and harvest management.
