dc.description.abstract A study of the prevalence of mental disorders (TM) was carried out in relation to the working condition in the adult population of four communities in the Central District of the department of Francisco Morazán, Honduras. Two instruments were used: SRQ that allowed a screening of symptoms of mental disorders and the Labor Condition and Unemployment Survey. The population sample was 300 adults: in urban areas, those located in the four quadrants of the city, 75 in each one. The results indicated that 51% of the population presents symptoms of mental disorders, being the most prevalent: Posttraumatic Stress, followed by Anxiety and Depression. Regarding sociodemographic variables, it was found that women and older adults are the most vulnerable to be affected, determined by a series of psychosocial factors, such as country reality in which there is a lack of: economic security, equality of opportunities and social justice. The labor condition has a significant impact on the mental health of the population, the greater the amount of unemployment, the higher the prevalence of Mental Disorders. es
