dc.description.abstract The purpose of this study was to analyze the relationship between anxiety, depression, and the work environment of medical staff assigned to the Emergency Room at the Teaching Hospital in the third quarter of 2023. It aimed to identify the connection between these variables, describe symptoms of depression and anxiety in physicians, and compare the scores with demographic factors such as sex, age, working hours, whether they work at another institution outside the Hospital Escuela, and the staff's work hours. The study adopted a quantitative, correlational approach with a non-experimental cross-sectional design. Standardized questionnaires were used to measure anxiety symptoms (Generalized Anxiety Disorder Scale GAD-7), depression symptoms (Patient Health Questionnaire PHQ-9), and organizational climate (Organizational Climate Questionnaire). The sample consisted of 75 physicians from the emergency room of Hospital Escuela, working different shifts and coming from various regions of Honduras, with diverse ages. The results indicated a positive and significant correlation between anxiety and depression symptoms (r = .657, p < .001). This suggests that higher anxiety levels are associated with higher depression levels. A negative correlation was found between work climate and depression (r = -.270, p < .019), which indicates that a better work climate is linked to lower depression rates. The findings partly align with those in other studies, showing differences in the severity of anxiety, depression, and work climate levels. These differences could be attributed to variations in work environments and sample selection criteria. es
