Relación entre Estrés Postraumático y Dependencia Emocional en Mujeres Víctimas que asisten al Juzgado Especial Contra la Violencia Doméstica en el Departamento de Francisco Morazán

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to analyze the relationship between post-traumatic stress and emotional dependence in women victims of violence who attend the Special Court Against Domestic Violence in the department of Francisco Morazán. A quantitative, correlational, non-experimental, and cross-sectional design was used. The sample consisted of 130 women assessed using three standardized instruments: the Gender Violence Scale (Elvis), the Emotional Dependence in Relationships Scale, and the Revised Impact of Event Scale (IES-R). The results revealed a high prevalence of psychological, physical, and sexual violence, as well as extreme levels of emotional dependence among most participants. A significant presence of post-traumatic stress symptoms was also identified, especially in the domains of intrusion, avoidance, and hyperarousal. Correlational analysis showed statistically significant relationships between the severity of violence, levels of emotional dependence, and traumatic symptoms, confirming a complex interaction among these factors. The study concludes that there is an urgent need to implement interdisciplinary care protocols that address emotional trauma, affective dependence, and legal protection simultaneously.
