Resumen:
Residential quality refers to the condition and lifestyle that people have, this quality can be Residential quality refers to the condition and lifestyle that people have, this quality can be measured taking into account different aspects such as: access to basic services, sanitary conditions, safety and infrastructure. This research has been carried out with the objective of determining the socioeconomic level and its relationship with residential quality in the households of the Central District, during the year 2021. Taking into account different theories, among them Maslow's Theory of Needs, Doyal and Gough's Theory of Needs, and Welfare Theory, the research had a quantitative, descriptive, non-experimental methodology, where a survey has been applied to 424 households in the Central District. As a result, in more than 50% of the homes, salaries are not congruent with the needs they have to live comfortably, there is overcrowding in 60.4% of the homes and there is a majority (84.9%) who consider that having their own home influences the quality of life; however, only 56.1% have their own home and less than half consider having the opportunity to acquire a home. On the other hand, there are levels of poverty in the population that do not contribute to housing quality, among the residential conditions that can be improved are: security and access to basic services, it has been identified that the socioeconomic level has a moderate positive relationship with the quality of housing construction so that one does influence the other, in this sense a proposal has been created to improve this situation.
