| dc.description.abstract | This research study focuses on analyzing the relationship between business family involvement and communication, family management actions, financial performance and the origin of the protocol in the context of family succession, focusing on business profitability and continuity. Theresearch problem is based on the need to understand how these four key factors influence family succession and, ultimately, business profitability and continuity. An empirical research methodology involving a representative sample of family businesses was used. The key findings revealed a significant relationship between the variables studied, leading to reject the null hypothesis and accept the alternative hypothesis. First, it was found that greater business family involvement and communication is positively associated with business profitability and continuity during succession. This highlights the importance of effective communication and family involvement in strategic and operational decision making. Secondly, it was observed that family management actions based on good practices have a positive impact on the profitability and continuity of the business. This implies the implementation of policies and procedures that promote the professionalization of management and the establishment of sound practices in key areas such as strategic planning and talent management. Third, strong and consistent financial performance was also found to contribute to profitability and business continuity during family succession. Effective financial management and adequate profitability support the long-term stability and viability of the business. Finally, the origin of the family protocol used in the succession also showed a significant relationship with business profitability and continuity. Consideration of best practices, history and business culture in the development of the family protocol contributes to successful and sustainable succession. In summary, this study demonstrates the importance of business family involvement and communication, family management actions, financial performance, and the origin of the protocol on business profitability and continuity during family succession. | es |
