“Desafíos de las microempresas en el Municipio del Distrito Central y el Acceso al Financiamiento”

Abstract

This research was carried out in order to describe the challenges and access to financing of microenterprises in the Municipality of the Central District, for which a non-experimental design was used, in which 384 microentrepreneurs participated, taking as reference the occupational category on own account of the Permanent Survey of Multiple-Purpose Households 2019 of the National Institute of Statistics of Honduras, because it does not have an accurate record of the existing microenterprises in this municipality. To obtain the results, a structured survey with directed and closed responses was applied to obtain homegenous data on the variables under study. The results show that, in relation to the challenges, there are three major challenges that microenterprises must face to operate their businesses: competition, insecurity and financing; and that, to access to financing, 52.34% of microentrepreneurs do not resort to formal financing, especially by the number of established requirements, opting for other sources of credit, if not in the reinvestment of profits, personal savings and family aids. Therefore, it is concluded that, regarding challenges, microentrepreneurs face important challenges such as competition and that, to access to finance, the biggest beneficiaries are formal microenterprises, since they can apply to loans, by meeting very specific and exact requirements for the granting of loans, unlike informal microenterprises, which, on the contrary, to survive must opt for both the credit of product suppliers, as for reinvestment, savings and family economic support
